This family loved their neighbourhood and home. The living room was large and expansive, the dining room spacious and comfortable, and they adored the classic and elegant home design. But, they also wanted a less formal space where the family could all gather and spend time together – with the kitchen at the heart of it all.
In addition, whomever was cooking during gatherings was either separated and secluded from the fun, or had no room to cook, crammed into the traditional work triangle configuration along with all the guests - unable to move and work. They longed for a space that could effectively and comfortably accommodate both socializing and cooking at once.
A home addition ended up being the key solution to give this family the kitchen, living and dining space they desired. Their new kitchen- with added family room- is large, open, and bright; perfect for cooking, socializing, and informal get-togethers. Carefully selected formal aspects of the home were retained in the new design, and a beautiful butler’s pantry connects the traditional dining room with the kitchen. Rich, blue cabinetry organizes serving-ware and provides both additional storage and serving space.
