This active family of five loved their home and their tight-knit neighbourhood, but with three kids and two busy careers, space was getting tight. They dreamed of having room to host overnight guests without playing musical bedrooms, a proper home office, and a cozy family room where everyone (toddlers + teens!) could relax, hang out, or gather for movie nights.

Their current basement just wasn't up to the job. Unfinished, dark, and cluttered, it had become more of a dumping ground than an actually livable part of the house. So, taking our clients' busy family life and additional space needs into consideration, our team got to work!

Together, we reimagined the space from the ground up. Now, it’s a bright, functional lower level that's perfectly suited to the family's everyday life. There’s a welcoming lounge space for family time and social get-togethers, a tucked-away office for working from home (that doubles as an inviting home gym, plus comfortable guest area!), and a brand new bathroom. We added smart storage, a cheerful laundry zone, and even made use of extra space to create a beverage zone with beverage cooler and snack storage. And of course, there’s completely updated, durable surfaces to keep the space working great for years to come.

The new basement feels like the rest of the home: thoughtful, practical, and ready to grow right alongside the family who lives there.
